Ajay Zharotia is a Visual Communication Consultant based in New Delhi. Being Graduate in Applied Arts, he has spent most of his professional life working with top and reputed advertising agencies in the country. He is a painter and visiting faculty at Delhi University, where he teaches Applied Art. He is also a certified Jaimini Scholar and practicing professional jyotish.
He was born on the night of 28th March, 1968, in a family lineage of artists. His father is a famous painter and art educator. He has naturally inherited the artistic talent and a spiritual inclination. Even in his childhood, he spent time reading mythological scriptures like the Mahabharata and the Vishnu Purana, while children his age were reading comic books and playing games.
In 2001, his spiritual pursuit became the focus of his life with the start of the Gayatri Sadhana. He started learning Jyotish academically in 2004. His first meeting with his jyotish Guru Pt. Sanjay Rath, transformed into his spiritual diksha (initiation) from the Revered Swami Gahananandaji, the 14th President of the Ramakrishna Order.
Since then he has surrendered himself in the holy feet of Jagannath and studying jyotish under the careful guidance of Pt. Sanjay Rath. He had been an active participant of Atri SJC classes in New Delhi and engaged himself in making transcriptions of lectures given in these classes. He was one of the fortunate few to be chosen to study Jaimini Upadesha Sutras under the guidance of Pt. Sanjay Rath in 2007.
He has successfully completed study of Jaimini Upadesha Sutras under a 5-year long programme (2007-11) of First Himalaya Batch of Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center (DBC).
Ajay’s belief in knowledge sharing and his passion for teaching has made him take up various teaching assignments. On the directions of the DBC-Institute he is currently teaching the 2nd Himalaya Batch of the Jaimini Scholar Programme along with other fellow Jaimini Scholars.
