Background

Smt. B. Lakshmi Ramesh’s pious parents undertook a Pan-India pilgrimage culminating in Badrinath in 1959, praying for the birth of a devout child. Through the grace of Devi Bala Tripurasundari & Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai Baba, Smt. B. Lakshmi Ramesh was born on the 1st of September 1960 at 15:25:29 at Hyderabad, India.

She is indeed a blessed child of the Lord, having received her Diksha at the age of one and a half years from Bhagavan Satya Sai Baba. Through the blessings of the Guru, she completed reading the Ramayan, Mahabharat & Bhagavatam before she completed 3 years of age. The continued grace of Guru impelled her to read the 18 Maha Puranas & Upa Puranas by the time she was 7 and a half years old.

Education

She completed her graduation in BSc (Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry) from the University College for Women, Hyderabad in the year 1980. Thereafter she went onto complete her Masters degree in the year 1982, from Osmania University in English Literature, being a University Topper & Gold Medalist.

Work

She joined the State Bank of India as a Probationary Officer in December 1983. Her banking career spanned 20 years, specializing in Foreign Exchange & IT. She played multifarious roles in her illustrious career. She was the Head of the R& D Wing at State Bank Institute for Information & Communication Management, the Apex Institute for IT in State Bank. In the course of her career, she also served as the Editor of the in-house magazine of State Bank, was member of the Y2K Committee for the Banking Industry & was Head of Computer Operations of the Bank at Hyderabad & Tirupati.

Her spiritual journey began at a tender age but thereafter the Divine Plan led her to accomplish several remarkable feats in the area of academics & career, briefly moving her away from a rare spiritual start to a human life. However, the innate connect with the Guru always remained & her life came a full circle with a move to Tirupati in 2003, her spiritual anchor. She opted for the VRS in 2004, soon after the move.

Jaimini Scholar

In July 2001 she joined SJC under the able guidance of Pt. Sanjay Rath. It is interesting to note that she had no prior knowledge of  Jyotish or any other occult branch. She considers it her highest privilege to have learnt from the lineage & Pt. Sanjay Rath. In 2011 she successfully completed the 5-year long Jaimini Scholar Programme (2007-11) & is a certified Jaimini Scholar of the First Himalaya Batch of Devaguru Brihaspati Center (DBC). On the directions of the DBC-Institute she is currently a teacher of the 2nd Himalaya Batch of the Jaimini Scholar Programme. This achievement she attributes to the great encouragement from Pt. Sanjay Rath & the unflinching support from her husband & family. She aspires to share this priceless knowledge with true seekers, as a Jyotish Guru for SJC.

Jyotiṣa Community Work

She has been involved in presenting or writing papers for the SJC conferences in India. She has presented Conference Papers on ‘Parivrajya yoga’ at Puri Conference in January 2004 and on ‘Timing of Spiritual Events’ at Mumbai SJC conference  (adjudged the “Best Paper”). She has also written a paper on ‘Transits based on Kalapurusha’ for the Delhi SJC conference. She is a regular contributor to The Jyotish Digest (JD). One of the regular features in the JD is the Vishnu Purana series, authored by her, which she considers as a humble dakshina to her Guru.
